The Jewish life cycle exhibit displays major milestones in the life of the Jews from infancy to old age and focuses on the customs and ceremonies by which birth, childhood, youth, Bar-mitzvah, the Henna ceremony, wedding and aging were celebrated by Iraqi Jews in the first half of the twentieth century. The exhibit features traditional articles of clothing, embroidered with gold and silver threads and set with precious stones, household articles, pictures and gifts of rare beauty that were brought over from Iraq and donated to the Museum. |
