A Recipe for "Masafan" an Almonds Pastry
Recipe of Mrs. Margaret Goorji
Ingredients:
1 cup ground sugar
2 cups shelled and ground almonds
6 drops rose water
1/2 cup water
Preparation:
1. Place almonds and sugar in bowl
2. Mix in 1/2 cup of water and sprinkle on it 6 drops rose water
3. Kneed mixture, adding water with rose water, until it becomes a smooth dough
4. Make imaginative shapes (star, diamond, circle, square) and place on tray with baking paper
5. Allow to dry for two days
6. Bake in moderate oven for a few minutes until brown
7. Allow to cool.
