IRAQI JEWS IN THE DIASPORA

Mr. S. H. SASSOON AND Mr. E. SHUKER VISITED

RABBI J. SACKS IN LONDON

On 23th April 2001, Mr. S. H. Sassoon paid a visit to the Chief Rabbi of Great Britain and Commonwealth, Professor Rabbi Jonathan Sacks, accompanied by Mr. Edwin Shuker.

He presented Rabbi Sacks with his book entitled "Shepherd and His Flock", written in the Arabic Language, which chronicles the life and achievements of his father, Hakham Sassoon Khedoury, of blessed memory. Mr. Sassoon also presented him with the English version of his book entitled "365 Days in the Hell of Saddam Hussein", which describes the dark period he spent in the notorious torture center, "The Palace of the End".

In return, the Chief Rabbi offered Mr. Sassoon a personally dedicated copy of his latest book, "Faith in the Future", which is the eighth book to be published by him since taking office as Chief Rabbi.
