The Babylonian Jewry Heritage Center strives for cooperation with scholars and academic institutions in Israel and abroad. In this it is assisted by members of the Academic Council and the research team that are active at the Center. After the initial such cooperation was created with Pennsylvania State University, through Prof. Gideon Golany, on research and an exhibition on the Jewish house in Baghdad, this year cooperation has begun with York University in Toronto, Canada, with the assistance of Dr. Shaul Regev of Bar-Ilan University, on the provision of courses on the Babylonian Jewish heritage to York University students through the internet. Through the offices of Prof. Shmuel Moreh, Chairman of the Academic Council of the Center, foundations have been laid for cooperation with the Oxford Centre for Hebrew and Jewish Studies at Yarnton, Oxford, in research, exchange of scholars and lecturers, writing of academic publications, exchanges of academic publications, organization of conferences, and assistance to students in the domain of the history and culture of Babylonian Jewry. We hope that this trend will continue to expand in the future, and thank the members of the Academic Council for their help.
